Tl and Tl-s

I dont mean to sound stupid but i always wondered what was the difference between the tl and the tl-s motor 99 compared to an 03

tl-p for correct term is the regualar 225 hp and the tl-s is the type s 260hp i believe those number are correct

different intake manifold, different cams, different TB assembly ( I think)
It will be interesting to put my 01 TL-P on the dyno some day and see what its getting now

By all means, if you could find a type-s, get it. get type-p only if the price different is substantial.

Didn't think they have the type-s in 99 models .... it didn't come out till 02-03 or something like that?

Two stage intake manifold, different cams, slightly larger valves, higher compression, larger TB and free flowing exhaust, all this adds 35 HP. Then you add headers, CAI and pulleys and you'll be pushing 300 HP at the crank.
