TL Side mirrors.

Ok, I have one thing here. I was thinking, why do Mercedes and other expensive cars have those side mirrors with the blinker lights, and why does my car not have a mod for one? Just throwing it out. If someone honestly invented it, I would so buy it. Hit me back.

i dont understand why so many ppl on this board are so scared to try new things or "custom fit" something on their "precious" TL...every1 waits for sum1 else to be the guinie pig..i think i spelled guinie wrong..but u kno wut i mean...lol y dont U offer to be the pig =)..by the way i checked this out and will be doing it to my 99 tl very soon...all u gotta do is get aftermarket mirrors which a local shop near me has...and throw them on...u will lose the motorized feature and the heated side mirror feature..but who honestly uses those? just my .02

Hey I still used the heated side mirrors. As a matter of fact, I used it this winter.:thefinger

I think there is a way to have it done and still keep the features.

Actually, it's more of a safety feature than looks. It makes the car stand out more when making a turn so that other cars can see it better.

But the main reason is on the highway. If you are driving next to a car or SUV, you can't tell if that person wants to turn or not, especially if you are halfway behind and can't see the blinkers in the front. With the light on the side mirror, you can tell.

I was goin to do that to the Honda till i got the TL, they have replacement mirrors for the Accord.... I would still like to do it though... But i would have to go buy mirrors from an S class cause i think thoes look the best Ive seen the "M3 style mirrors with signals" and thier small and ricey...

in addition to adding the lights, has anyone put window tint on their mirrors or something to make the glare from cars behind you seem not so bright...........kinda like in the jettas with the blue tint........would the film stay on if exposed to external elements? since they don't auto dim like more expensive cars, just looking for a cheap alternative.

bug230: learn something new every day don't we?

I've used it a bit - yeah, certainly not since moving here, but man it works pretty fast! Good stuff.
