TL-S "VS" TL-P stock muffler

Is there even a difference between the two? They look to be exactly the same. I would think the TL-S would be of bigger diameter at least.

I never see/hear of people swapping over the TL-S mufflers on their TL-P as it was very popular of the RSX guys going to the RSX-S exhaust.

Just curious

Well from what I can gather from the Acura archives on hondanews.com they give the exact same description of the exhaust for the TL-S as they do for the CL-S

However if you look at the actual parts they are different.
It seems that the CLS B-pipe has one less resonator, the converters are the same, but the mufflers do have different part numbers. Not sure how much the mufflers vary from CLS to TLS. The CLS mufflers are also cheaper too

According to this the reason the TL-S gets more flow is from the B-pipe, and Cat. They don't mention an advantage to the mufflers.

And yes, I was comparing TL-P to TL-S. Also brings up the CL-P vs CL-S muffler differences.

According to acuraoemparts.com the Mufflers for the TL-S and TL-P have different part numbers, so they must be different in some way. My guess would be the diameter.

TL-S
-Left Muffler # 18035 S0K-A20
-Right Muffler # 1830 S0K-A20

TL-P
-Left Muffler # 18035 S0K-A01
-Right Muffler # 18030 S0K-A01

The difference is in the A-01 or 20.

Are you kidding? You do realize that mufflers are refered to as silencers as well?

I thought I made that point quite clear in fact I made that part of the excerpt bold, italicized and underlined!

According to the information....

I have seen in the past the TL-S exhaust is lower restriction than that of the TL-P. I believe there are no gains when you put the Comptech Exhaust on the the Type-S version, just better than stock sound. I believe that other members dynoed their cars after the Axle Back addition of Comptech and had up to a 12 HP gain, same test on a Type S and had minimal to no gain. This was 3 -4 years ago when they did the test....

i have the cat back comptech exhaust on my TL-S and its a big difference. the mid pipe is around 3 inches and then flowing into the muffler pipes, so it a big change from stock. the only thing i dislike is how loud the drone is cruising at 60 but 70+ it goes away? and the stock TL-S exhaust for some reason does sound deeper then TL-P.

Buy the quiet tip inserts. They make a huge difference in the drone
