They are the same... Type-S only has some stitching difference and the head rest is triangular instead of squared.

The CL-S seats on the other hand are different, More sportier.

The TL-S seats are more sporty with perforated leather center sections and larger side bolsters.

which to me, would be the more comfortable ones.

Side bolsters always hug me tight!

So with the seats being the same... Is it possible I could just pull off the leather covers part and just switch that out instead of buying the whole seat?

would probably be a whole lot less work to just swap out the seats. You'd have to pay an upholsterer to redo them and at that point you're probably above cost.

The seats are not the same. The cushions are different and the TL-P leather covers will not fit the TL-S seats and vice versa.

A good set of used seats will be cheaper that buying new OEM leather covers and probably cheaper than paying an upholsterer to redo the covers on your existing TL-S seats.

One thing that just came to mind is I know the seat warmers on my friends 99 TL are on the back versus the bottom. Would this present a problems that wouldn't make is plug and play?
