actually, it translates to you being an idiot to believe it. A lot of dumb salesmen are spreading rumors. And like i've heard many times on this board -- rumors are like a$$holes, everyone has one. There is no official news whatsoever from japan that a TL-S will be produced anyway.

I second that. I mean unless it has

a bigger engine with more hP
memory seats
in dash six disks

and a WHOLE lot more they can call it what they like but it wont be sh*t.

IMHO

Cool

Well I heard from a friend who has an uncle that is married to a hairdresser who fixes the hair for the next door neighbor of a guy who works for Acura and that the guy who works for Acura found a memo from another manager in a trash can that said Acura was going to release a TL Type-S with 260 hp AND a 5speed optional manual transmission, complete with a 6 disk in dash CD player, and a fold down rear seat.

Yup, rumors ARE like a$$holes, just that some people have nicer ones than others.

You're all wrong, I was at the dealer and they told me TL-X, V8 baby! Yeah boy!

Sheesh...just kidding. No reason for Acura to release any Type S or A or B or whatever. The TL is kicking ass in it's market why would and should they bump up the HP. Now if the Maxima all of a sudden came out with like 260 then I can see it. I do believe that the TypeS engine is Acura's Ace in the deck. They'll hold off until they have to. And from what I see, not anytime soon. It may not translate to you being an idiot, but I totally agree with Rice.

Plus most of the people who buy a TL aren't looking for high HP cause those people buy CL-S or something else. Not to say that there isn't a market but it would have to have lots of other simple features to sell well. Im just hoping they dont change the body style for nother year or so more

No sh!t. I hope the TL if anything does like extremely minor things. Although I must admit that a change of some sort is due. 3 years of the exact same exterior. Maybe the wheels' next.

I will disagree on this one. I am only 28, and of the 5 cars I owned, 4 were Acuras, the first was a 79 Mustang Anyway, my Integra was considered a 2 door (Hatchback), and my other 3 Acuras Legends were/are all Coupes. I love Coupes, but if Acura came out with a TL-S, I would buy that car over the CL-S, even though the TL has 4 doors. In fact, as it stands right now, I would still buy the current 00/01 TL over the 01 CL-S. I'm not saying the CL is a bad car, as it is a very good car, but that particular Acura Coupe is not for me. The current TL style is very nice IMHO. An extra 35HP in an S version would just be a bonus.

Just FYI--the maxima will have 260hp next year from a modified 3.5L Pathfinder engine. If they tune that thing right with a 5 speed it's going to be a very fast car. I'm not sure how much promise the Pathfinder engine has as a modified engine, however. We'll just have to wait and see.

Not only is the Maxima getting extra HP for next year but the i30 is slated to as well. The i30t probably more directly competes with the Tl in the performance orientated entry level luxury sedan market. I think for the money the TL is the winner in this category but if they don't respond to Infiniti's extra HP they will probably lose some sales there.
