actually, this particular run was done on brand new Pirelli SP7000s... very very good traction in wet conditions... and it also gives a boost for 0-60... the takeoff is much gripier and lets u pick up speed faster... when i had stock on, i lost to Fiddler's accord coupe(he had the same SP7000), now 0-60 i'm ahead =)

Question for you... seeing that you're hitting those puddles like that makes me think of this.

After really getting on the car and doing a lot of quick braking, aren't you concerned with the water on the hot rotors causing them to warp? I think about that a lot, it's amazing how much steam is let off when they get wet after racing.

well, couple of things in response:
you are correct in thinking about rotors under normal circumstances, but there is no reason to brake hard or brake at all once i am through the puddles as there is plenty of room to just slow down

also, normally i dont use brakes, i downshift to slow down and then brake to come to full stop.

and finally, i have crossdrilled rotors, so they cool much faster, if i ever needed to brake really hard after going through a lot of water

so after all this, my rotors are still fine

Thanks for the response.

I hear what you're saying, but (and correct me if I'm wrong) I didn't think you need to brake hard after hitting a puddle for the rotors to warp. From what I was told, extremely hot metal cooled down VERY quickly (say by driving through a large puddle ) would cause warping, not the hard braking after.

I realize this doesn't really apply to you since you have crossdrilled (although, I think it still might since although they cool down quicker- they still get very hot too) but I was really wondering for those of us that have normal brakes on our TL's.

If I ever have any brake problems not covered by warranty on my TL, I too will have crossdrilled. I had them before on my Talon TSi AWD and absolutely loved them.
