Guys, I'm having a problem w/ my TL when I start the car it will cut right off. Or it will be ideling very low. It does not do this all the time but this evening it did it three times. At first I thought it was bad gas, but I've been putting good (Silver)gas in it.
What do you think it could be, tune up maybe.

 

When it idles, does it stay constant or does it seem to fluctuate? My guess it that it may be something with either the Distributor cap or spark plugs.
That or you just have to adjust the idle on it.
Did this problem start recently all of a sudden or did you notice it over a while?

If it's idling low and cutting off, it sounds like there may be a timing problem or even a defective spark plug. I wouldn't worry much, just take it to Acura and they will address it most likely at no cost to you...

 

It just started over the past week or so. But it seems to fluctuate w/the idleing.
It's kind of aggrevating. you know.

In canada Silver is only 87 octane... you should use gold 93 octane

 

If you also have problems with the engine malfunction indication (engine check light) then good luck to you. Acura can't fix that problem with the ECU computer yet.....

That will casue few problems.

1. hard to start or rattle, knocking in your case

2. the TCS will also malfuction...


This is on the 2000 model year... not sure about the 2001, but I think they got that as well. This is one thing that Acura really pissed me of and made me realized that my car is a POS lemon, and Acura/Honda is just a POS company...
