TL-P Tranny issue?
No issue in my car, thank God. (Prays, prone, to god of tranny failures to spare him...ommmmm....)
I was having my oil changed, broken fog light replaced, and proselytizing a-tl.com at my dealer today and I just happened to ask whether they were seeing a lot of tranny failures in TLs. The reply surprised me and I just wanted to ask you guys about it.
The service dude said that "we've got several TLs here now", "we see TLs all the time for that", and two surprises--"we see mostly TLs, not TL-Ss" and "Acura is telling us to troubleshoot the connection between the computer and the transmission, and the fix seems to work without replacing the transmission".
Has anyone else heard this, or are these guys (good reputation around here) blowing smoke out their butts?

Has anyone found out EXACTLY what causes the failures in our transmissions?

Well, that's pretty scary, n-bob!
I can't see how the trans-computer link could fail gradually as many people are reporting slowly increasing incidences of slippage before total blowout. Now if there is a computer bug commanding bad solenoid actions (?) which is causing premature failure, that would maybe make a little more sense, but it wouldn't help a trans that already failed. Also, that would be a quick recall to replace firmware in the ECU, it would have to save them big money over letting the trannies fail.
Was it the service manager you heard this from, or one of the techs?
Also would be nice if Acura would officially come clean with some numbers and a root cause so people wouldn't have to speculate.
