I'm pretty sure now that I'll look into the TL Type-S. Thanks for all of the positive and useful feedback.

Now I'm curious about modifications. It's something I've always wanted to do but never took off with it. I test drove the TL Type-S and was very impressed with the engine. However, I want to do some modifications to further enhance its performance. Because I'm new to this, I'd like to request that you point me in the right direction! Where do I start? What are the best companies and best parts? What are your recommendations. How do I get to their websites?

In addition, I'd love to see some of the things you guys (& girls) have done! Please post links and pictures and share what you liked and dis-liked about it. I look forward to reading from you!

Wow.. that's a big request!!

As for mods..
There are basically three directions you could go

For looks: Bling Wheels, lowered, kit, fog lights, etc..
Handling: Spring, sways, tires
Speed: Headers, Intake, RES, NOS

Mostly, people do a combination of all of these..
Personaly, my preference is for Looks and Handling..

A good place to start is look in the gallery to the top left of this page...
But if you would like to have the most benifit from learning about mods, I would suggest you try and make it out to a meet that is happening in your local area.. check out the Meets forum to see if there is one..

well first of all welcome to the tl familly

when your looking into moding your car you need to think what your looking for as an end product.

I love my car, have had a realy modded corvette before and am over the loud extreamly fast car thing. I like my car quite, looking good and quick.

I first bought the Mugen Exaust, a bit deeper tone than stock with the small hp gains exaust gives.

then I bought a bunch of looks goodies, wood shift knob, modified my grill with gutter gard (go to faq if intrested looks realy good when done).

I bought a Cold air intake and hated it. didn't see huge increases in hp, and that thing is loud.

switched to K&N air filter works great gives the high end gains I'm looking for.

my last mod was comptech springs. lower stance, lower center of gravity for better handling and looks great.

next will be sway bars, strut tie bar, RES, MM2, 18" HRE 540's, Headers, blaze kit, Mugen spoiler, and comptech supercharger if it evers is made.
