Hey guys,

I was searching for a lip online for my 02 and i came upon a site that i think is too good to be true, i'm the type of person who's skeptical when it comes to buying online just wondering if anyone has used this site, they claim to have OEM products. They have a entire lip kit (lip, sides, rear lip) for around 260. Seems too good to be true right? The website is raceappealkits.com usually when i see cheap lips online they will say "OEM Style" but in this case it just says "2002 - 2003 ACURA TL TYPE S OEM FULL LIP KIT
Made is North America
Constructed of High Grade FRP
Includes Front Lip, Side Skirts, Rear Lip"

Crossing my fingers and hoping that this is just a good deal on a oem kit

Its NOT an oem kit. OEM kits arent made of the semi flexible fiberglass.

 

I figured it was too good to be true. For the 02 is says its "Constructed of High Grade FRP" that means fiberglass? Thanks again.

 

Need to Find one that says Made from ABS Plastic! everything made from FRP or Anything related to Fiber-glass is a Copy-Cat!

 

Fiber glass front don't bother, especially if your lowered, might last a few months one good driveway and it will crack in two. Only good thing is fiber glass is cheap to repair a basic kit cost like $30 with everything you need

FRP stands for Fiber Reinforced Plastic - aka, fiberglass. You'll be hard pressed to find aftermarket ABS plastic lips...more expensive to produce, & from a retailer standpoint harder to market a product to potential customers who's buying decision is motivated mostly by price instead of product material. Downsides to FRP is obviously impact strength, but FRP does have benefits over aftermarket ABS lips - you/body shop have more ability to adjust the fitment to make it look spot on. It's very easy to work with sanding down sections that don't fit properly. Not as easy to work with an ill-fitting ABS part. As mentioned also above, if damage does occur it is quite easily repairable as well.

You can check out another site called OEMLIP.COM. They sell replica lips, but from a flexible type FRP material.
