TL High idle
Well summer is here and the temperature varies from warm to hot. The idle on my TL has been on the high side from 1500-3000k so i replaced my TPS thinking its false reading...
Well i was wrong because it never fixed it.
Fast forward to today and i got a cel for the iacv. so i went ahead a changed it but to no avail its still idling high.
I am pretty lost. all topics i found told me to replace both parts but with disappointing results.
can anyone help?
thanks

did you adjust your TPS correctly? Its not a just bolt on item. Is your throttle cable too tight? idle adjustment screw?

Throttle cable has some slack, but the cruise control cable is pretty tight. I'm now shooting towards a vacuum leak.
What's the best way to look for the leak?

Research TSB 03-006 on the forum or Google. It pertains to issues and the methods/procedures for remedy on idle speed problems. Start here before going any further.
If you clear the IAC code and get it to reappear (even after replacing the IAC itself) then you're undoubtedly going to have one of two problem or maybe even both: damaged engine harness or bad engine control module.
You can do a quick check on the basics at the connector of the IAC valve. The yellow w/black stripe wire should be power with engine running and the solid black wire should be a ground (regardless of key position obviously). Always check the easiest things first...
