TL Crash
I saw that on the local news, that is a traggic accident. I felt awful when I saw that. The car was demolished, I cannot believe anyone survived. I cannot fathom how I would feel if that were my kids, I certainly would not have the desire to live. Hopefully the rest of the family can somehow find closure someday.
The driver seat is shown laying on the ground outside of the vehicle, the side airbag hanging out. This is proof that VSA is no substitute for good judgment and can only use available traction, not create it.
I have several questions about this accident. Why did he lose control? How fast was the TL-S traveling? The TL is a safe car with a tough chassis, that could not have been a low speed accident. I wonder if weather is to blame? Also, I wonder if the seat landed that way or was cut out because I don't think a seat can leave a car if the seatbelts are being worn.

I'd say one of two things happened - judging by the accident site, the guardrail doesn't lok touched in front of the site, so he obviously left the road early. Either the TL was travelling at a high rate of speed and skidded sideways into that pole, or it just hit at precisely the right angle... I'm going to lean towards the former.

Man, thats sad, but he must of have been speeding. Our TL's have a very strong frame and I have seen a few crashed before, but he had to be driving at a high rate of speed to leave the road like that and actually leave the ground before he hit the pole and then split in half.
I would assume the seats were probably taken out my EMS or emergency workers to reach the passenger, backseat passengers, etc...
Either way, I feel sorry for the father.
