personally i would get 50 or 35% all 7 windows...i like the uniformity...instead of having the back darker and the front lighter...and if i had 5 bills to spend i would get ceramic tint imo...=))

I've got 21% platinum tint by Llumar on my 03 TL-S. I love the way it looks and get compliments on it all the time. It's 21% all around, and as in the post above mine, definitely stick with the same percentage on all windows.

Edit: Damn, I can't understand why the pictures don't work. I'm linking from my webshots gallery. I'll try to post a link, hopefully that will work.

7 windows??!?

what the hell?! i was unaware of the secret window that we had.

the titanium tint is the mirror tint rite?!!? if it is, i wouldnt get that crap. from what i hear it cracks under severe heat. when it first came out it was tyte and now its real played out.

i'd go 10% all around even on the imaginary 7th window( ) if you dont mind goin illegal

if you mind then i'd go at least 35%

i have 10%

And I agree, if the "Titanium" tint is the mirror-like tint, I think it's over done and looks a little "ricey" these days. A regular tint isn't as flashy as the mirror stuff, but I think it looks better because it keeps the car dark and looks classy. Also, you're less likely to change your mind about regular dark tint versus mirror tint during the life of the car. (As you probably know, tint is a bitch to get off, so you want to make sure you can make a choice and stick with it (no pun intended)) Mirror tint is/was a fad, it will/has pass(ed). But, that's just my opinion.

The hole % tint is crap just so you guys know. I talked to a cop the other day and he told me that all tint is not legal. It is all up to the police department that you get pulled over by. I have a friend who had 10% tint and got fined. Also I was reading a post in a differnt web site and the guy was telling me that a cop had pulled him over and demanded he get his FACTORY tint removed.

my tl is same year as yours, except heather mist metallic. 22 front and 13 back titanium.
i was going to go with 35 front 22 back but due to peer pressure... haha

i got to say, after the tints my car is a lot less hot after parked in the sun. difference range from 3-8F on a sunny southern california day.

and just as a comparison... i got mine done for 120 bucks w/o tax (you can say its "included" )

Oops...I posted earlier that I have platinum tint, but it's actually metallic tint. Also, here is the link to see my car with the tint, as well as my new cleared headlights.

I think it's up to the state... For example, I live in VA, and here's what is posted on the VA DMV website about tint: click here. If an officer in some county of VA pulls me over and fines me for having tint, even though it's at a legal tint level, I can dispute and get out of the ticket since state law supercedes county law. So, as long as you don't exceed what your state allows, you should be able to get out of any ticket you receive in that state. HOWEVER, the rules do not apply if you cross state lines. If I get stopped in MD and say they have a state law against tint, they could, technically, give me a ticket and I'd have to pay it - but I wouldn't have to "fix it".

And that's news to me that factory tint can get you in trouble because I thought most cars (like minivans and trucks) didn't have tint, their physical windows/glass are just dark. And to fix it means new, clear, windows... Damn... That would suck.... :thumbsdn:

Go platinum, I got 50% on 4 side windows and 35% in back, Back winshield should always be darker. because the guns cops use to measure tint clarity can't read properly off the back wind shield. By the way every and I mean every state has it's own tint law, but some don't have any and it's local law enforcement that dictates what is acceptible. By the way if its factory the police cannot make you remove the tint that is illegal and if you bring it to their attention and they still precist then either refuse to remove it and threaten to call any attorney for harassment(many have dont that, no shit!), worst that can happen is they keep harassing you and impound your car, sucks right, but then you have three different reasons to sue the police department and the town or state this happens in. Harassment, defamation of character and wrongfully impounding a vehicle. You will not have to pay for anything and will achieve a settlemtn if you do indeed obtain legal counsel. Point don't let any police officer bully you about tint. If you have tint laws stay within them, accept for back windshield go darker, not too much because then it become obvious. The certificate that a professional installer gives you is the only way you can get your car to pass inspection, unless you got a hookup, but fines levied on inspectors and inspection stations is being handed out hard and often whenever they find the culprit which is very easy if they find your car to be illegally tinted. Be careful, getting harassed sucks, but I nice tint is classy. Platinum looks like a mirror when it's cloudy so does titanium, not much difference between too, I'd got platinum it also blends nicely to any color its put up against. Get it now biotch!!!!! :shit:

I have 35% all around, quantum something or watever, basicly its like a mirrior tint, and it looks real good. Some angles you cant see inside and others its jus a nice darker tint on the car, i really like it.

Hey Orcaatk,

Are you within VA limits? I just had mine tinted on Saturday and I asked for the darkest legal tint that I could get and he gave me 35% all the way around (with no waiver) and looks 100% better. Do you think I'll get pulled? Should I go back and have him do it again?

Yo, Just some friendly advice. Take your car by a paintless dent removal place. They can take that dent out of the center of your drivers door for about 50-80 bucks in about an hour.

Money well spent...IMHO. Just tryin' to help a brother out.....

The whole % thing is NOT CRAP!!!! THere is an actual hand held machine that foes over the window and shoots a laser from one side of the window to the other. It CAN and DOES determine the % and can tell if you ove over or under 35%. If a cop doesn't have one of these machines then you should plead not quilty due to the fact he didn't have the machine and was just eyealling it.
