Lightbulb Tire pressures

Hey guys, I was just wondering what tire pressures you are running on your cars?
On my 2G TL it says 32Psi on the door sill, but I hear putting a bit more can increase your mileage. Imma test this theory by pumping it up to around 40-45Psi.
And does anyone know if I get some different tires that The Psi stays the same and I should follow what the door dill says instead of what is on the sidewall of the tires?

Not a great idea. You will wear your tires out faster that way.

Tire pressure depends on your tire size and brand. low vs high profile, soft vs firm sidewalls, etc. The best is to increase the pressure until you can feel the roughness of the road, then reduce 1lb, and that will be the pressure for those tires. You don't want to increase pressure too much that will save a bit of gas and diminish the comfort.

Never exceed the max psi on the sidewall, and dont fill it up to max cold. Once driven it will raise exceeding the max psi.

I typically run 38-42 with my tires with no increase in wear. Every tire and driver are different.

`cold` is measured as overnight cold, or less than 1 mile driving under 25mph, if you have to get to a air pump before cking (buy a tire guage!)

there is allowance for the heat `normally generated`in ~standard driving~, and the extra few psi that makes.
Thats why its stated as max cold..MAX cold
At the track we take cold and hot pressure and tire temps to see how much change has occured,
are we expanding the center of the tire too much,,or not enough? flat across is perfect at temp, with even temps across surface

Balls, I've been keeping my tire pressure at 32 lol. Gonna have to increase it to 38 for more MPG.

check the pressure after having driven on them for a while.

Just did a quick search. Seems the consensus is that pencil type (which I've been using ) aren't that accurate, and digital can lose calibration quickly.

People seem to like ones with flex tube and a pocket-watch type display. Any recommendation on a brand of these?

IMO, 32psi is too soft & squishy for the weight of our cars. Especially people like me who like to corner hard. Gas mileage and tread wear will definitly be better with more pressure. I like also like about 38-40 in front and 34-36 in the rear. Agree with the MAX COLD pressure. The tire is designed to handle the increased psi over Max Cold due to heat expansion.

One thing to check, if you had your tires at max psi during the last of the cold winter, and it is now hot outside, you may need to adjust psi.

It totally depends on the make & model of tire; the #'s on the doors are for the Stock Michelin's.
I have Yokohama Avid Envigor's and if you look at their specs and do the math, for same load as the Michelin's at 32 psi, they need to be inflated to 38 psi (which is what I use now). Tire rack has all the tire inflation specs based on load and you do the math.

any decent digital--not the dollar specials,,should last and stay calibrated
I have several types of guages including the $50 race track round one with hose,
which says the same thing as my 5 buck digital
