Tinted Headlights and HID

I was contemplating tinting my headlights to match the 20% I have on my taillights and I understand that if I do tint them I would lose some of the brightness, if I got a higher output bulb would that compensate for the tint? If so, which should I go for?

i got 6000k, looks good, to they eye its brighter and u see the road reflectors and signs better. lots of ppl like 5000k bc its pure white to the eye. others like 8000k bc it has a bluish tint to it but decreased viability. 5000k to 6500k should be good with tints.
