Actually....I heard it' isn't a fix it ticket anymore for window tint right??? isn't it a fine now? When My god sister had her Mercedes C class....she tinted it the quantum tint...and she used the second to the darkest. You can't see inside for jack sh!t....only the silhouette of her .. and she never got a ticket....maybe it's cause she's a darn girl.... :p I'm gonna do the same tint as my god sister...

We shall go to Pro Tint! But I think I'll be the only one tinting due to the fact that not everyone can wait on the account of me. So there isn't any hook up for me. Anyone willing to wait?

Except that the law in CA says that any front window tint darker than 70% (or some ridiculously high number like that) transmitted light is illegal. Back windows can be any darkness. 70% tint is so light, that a cop wouldn't even notice it in the first place.

I find that my 43% tint is not very noticeable. I haven't been harassed by cops yet.

Hmmm......I need to get my tint off, ticket signed off and then tint put back on. I have to call pro tint to see that because we are doing this as a group, they will take my tint off for free!! I will be giving them a call later today to see what's the deal.

I will be ready when I find the car...LOL! That sounds long huh? So far there is absolutely no 01 WDP w/ NAVI. I'm going with bebber today to hunt for TL's. I hope to get it ASAP. other then that...if no one is willing to wait...that's no problem with me. I don't want to hold anyone back.

remember...
if u get 2001...u have the hassle to do a lot of stuff on it..
if u want 2002 tail lights....u gonna have to swap em.. etc..

u gonna end up spending more..i'm pretty sure..there's more stuff for 2002 type S later..

like new grill...eye lids...other modes..
think abt that..

i liked the 2001 more before too..but after i got 2002..
it balances it up..
the performance on the type S is a + and the tail light..
the front..can always change it later

or get custom work done

it's not really a luxury car :P
it's more toward entry level... but I think of it as more sporty..cause of it's looks...feel..and the performance..

Hey gusy,

I was wondering if I could get in on this tint deal as well. My GF just got a TL this past Sunday and it's in serious need of a tint job. Could you please tell me where Pro-Tint is? Also, what's the latest price on this? Also, do we need to go as one big group or can I just say I'm part of the TL group? How long does it usually take? Thanks.

Regards,
Mike H.

Damn, that's pretty far. I'll just look for something in the Southbay area. If I don't get this done soon, I'll check back for updates.

Mike H.,

Just go to Pro-Tint anytime and tell them you're part of the Acura-tl forum deal. They'll understand and cut you in on a discount. What's the price that we decided on? I forget, but it shouldn't cost you over $140 total to tint all your windows with titanium tint.

Josh, since you put in that way, I'm in. I just gotta steal the car from my GF. I'll give them a call before Friday. How long do you think it would take? Thanks again.

Time

Assuming they're busy, it really shouldn't take over 2hrs to do the install. Scrubbing the black matrix dots on the rear windshield accounts for a lot of time and effort.
Setup an appointment first, cause they normally get busy on weekends.

Best of luck to ya.

Question

Didn't want to start a new thread for this... Can any of you who ended up going to Pro Tint please answer some questions?

1. Were you pleased with the job they did?
2. How much did you end up paying (not including the side view mirrors)?
3. Did they charge you for shaving the dot matrix?

Asking these questions because I went this weekend and I mentioned Acura-TL.com for a discount. They offered $10 off their sale price, for Quantum tint it was $189. But then the guy said that I have to pay $25 to acid-wash the rear window.

I'm assuming this is the Pro Tint in Covina? Got mine done for 180 including the vinyl on the dot matrix. They did a pretty good job considering the amount of money that I paid. California Tint can do the same job for 110 but their quality is not as good.

Does anyone know a good place to go for the Japanese Clear Tint for the windshield? Btw, I got my windows tinted at Cali. Tint this past weekend. They did a very decent job; however, they didn't offer the Japanese Film you guys were speaking of.

What shade did you all go with?

see_fu I am talking about the Pro Tint in Temple City on Rosemead. Did you get the Titanium tint or Quantum tint?

Hi, I'm about to get 13% in the back window. Do people think it's too dark for driving at night?

Our deal is 3 cars for $150 each (pro-tech-tint of costa mesa).

Somehow people all prefer quantum tint, so I borrowed a sample book. Although it reflects green, when I actually see through the film, it looks purplish. I thought the Charcoal type (also by solargard) looks greener.

A friend has a clear film on this frontwindshield. Actually make a car cooler. But really hard to keep it clean.

I'd love to see the Japanese UV film info. on a web site or a detailed review of it.
