timing belt help.
i plan on having my timing belt replaced next week.
im a little over 105k, spark plugs are a must i believe....i know the compressors in our cars are hit or miss, should i go ahead and replace it while im at it.
if anyone has the exact parts needed for the timing belt replacement would be great.
I want this thing to run like new afterward any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance guys.

more likely its the weak plugs
seafoam the gas and intake manifold- clean the TB air plate- before the service
thats tune up in a can by getting the crud buildup out of the system
if getting valves adjusted: run seafoam in oil then change--before service
see its diy
are you looking to buy the parts for a shop to install, or you have someone to do it at home?
most shops dislike you bringing in the parts- must speak with the service manager before you show up expecting them to be happy about lost profit on parts sales
there are dealers who sponsor this forum and make ziner special prices- there was a package deal for 300- thats way less than list prices
go to the Vendor list , next to log out box, PM them for prices
DO get the timing belt tensioner and the idler/roller pulley for it, often not in quoted low prices~
do the ac idler pulley while its right there and easy to change
if you can diy the plugs it saves big money, unless doing valve adjust where removing the plugs makes that job easier to rotate the engine

Select Gates pump, Gates timing kit (idlers & belt), Beck/Arnley Timing Belt Tensioner Adjuster, NGK Iridium plugs, Gates serpentine belts.
Total should be about $201 + shipping (and tax, if any)
I entered a 2002 Acura TL, non-Type S to get the quote.

The ECM should bump the idle up slightly when the A/C compressor is on- does that work?

Make sure you replace the pulleys and recommend the water pump while your there. We had the Timing belt replaced at 105K and at 131K the pulley seized, melted the timing belt and bent the new water pump shaft we replaced. $700 bill. Thanks god the valves did not bend or it would have been another $1300.

to do a timing belt job and not replace its tensioner and idler pullies is about the worst thing you can do to yourself~
sadly many shops dont sell them with the job, or stress the importance of all new parts.
in my opinion:
If it tensions or rotates and holds ANY of the belts- its not going to last another 100kmiles--lets just be real here~
water pump is critical engine part- to not replace it is really asking for problems
As the poster above found--a few hundred saved today,, may be a few thousand spent in 12 months
amazing you didnt bend any valves when it failed--interferance engines --doesnt take but 1 turn of the motor and BANG into the piston goes an open exhaust valve.
double ck the compression on each cyl--you dont know its all good until the numbers match up
