Time for a tranny drain and fill (amsoil or honda atf)
Well I have about 30k miles on my current tranny, and I need to do a drain and fill.
Would there be a issue if I mixed honda ATF with Amsoil. I really only was going to take 3 qts out and add 3.

Ok I am just buying a case of Z1 from Honda. I need to do the RSX and my TL.
For the TL. Take the top bolt off, and drain from bottom. Correct. What tools are need (sizes)

the trans drain has the letters ATF stamped on the case above the drain.
Some units may use a standard 3/8 drive ratchet drain plug- where the ratchet fits into the squre
- the top bolt on your replacement trans should be 17-19 and says ATF right on the bolt- cant miss it
A ziner recently wrote me that their switch to amsoil resulted in shifting issues and was going back to honda stuff.
I am sticking with honda PS fluid and ATF

I've used amsoil for years and had good success with tranny's. First lasted 143k, 2nd has 25k and it shifts 100% perfect. I'd use amsoil IMO. It's recommended for honda/acura's per amsoil site and they back up their products.

Use the Honda fluid - my second tranny went 1 day after switching to Amsoil (no prior symtoms). I doubt that the Amsoil had anything to do with it but I will never have a warm fuzzy with Amsoil in Hondas. Most likely due to draining old dino fluid, putting in fresh synthetic (2x3) and brought problem to the surface.
Now 3rd trans, 187k and drain 3 qts every 10k.
