The time has come :(
The time has come :(
...to store my car for the Winter. Looks like it'll be raining/snowing this whole week here in Chicago burbs. Anyways, I looked through our manual and this is what is says to do before storing...
-Fill the fuel tank.
-Change engine oil and filter.
-Wash and dry exterior.
-Clean interior.
-Leave parking break off. Put transmission in park.
-Block rear wheels.
-If the car is to be stored for a longer period, it should be supported on jackstands so the tires are off the gorund.
-Leave one window open slightly.
-Disconnect the battery.
-Support front wiper blade with towel/rag so they don't touch the windshield.
-To minimize sticking, apply silicone spray lubricant to all door and trunk seals.
-Cover the car with a "breathable" cover.
-If possible, run the engine for a while periodically (preferably once a month).
Anyone else have any other tips before storing??? And do I really need to follow all of these tips? I just thought that the car should be clean, disconnect the battery, and keep it covered.
Thanks
