Talking Time for a "Fresh" Topic......

Most of us live in densely populated, smog infested cities these days. I was just wondering if anybody has noticed a difference in the "freshness" of their internal air quality of their cars.

Also, how often does that filter need replacing?

If this has been discussed before, forgive me, I'm just a silver star poster.

I was very interested in that as well. I find very little reference to it in the owners manual. I was hoping it would be an electrostatic filter that could be removed and cleaned. I don't even know how to get to it. My car seems to have less dust but then again I have only had it for 3 weeks.

I do believe it's suppose to be changed at 30K miles. It's behind the glove compartment, & I've heard "Horror" stories getting it out. Don't know if that part is true or not?

I have really noticed the air filtration at work. I usually drive around with the climate control on full auto, which usually is pulling in fresh air. Whenever I get in heavy traffic and/or behind a truck and start to smell fumes in my car, I hit the recirculating button, which kicks in the filtration system.

The air quality clears up in less than a minute. This is a good thing living in Houston, which is now the pollution capital of the country (wohoo! We're nubmer 1!)
