I live in NY and when i received my title in the mail the wrong lienholder was listed. i called the honda Finance which was the lienholder that was listed and explained. they mailed me a letter stating that the car was paid in full and they have no future intrest in this car. I wish this meant I dont owe any money for the car. Anyway does this mean I can sell the car even though there is a loan on it? Not sure what i should do now.

I think that means that another bank bought out your loan... it happens all the time. you should ask Honda Finance who bought it or paid it out...

 

Strange thing is I never had a loan with honda credit. they turned me down when I applied.

 

whoever is listed on the title as the lien holder is who owns the car. U can sell the car with a lien holder listed but u also need to provide the info stating that the car was paid off (with the money u get from the person) so that they in turn can get a new title with either a new lien holder or no lein holder at all

 

Well now my title has no lienholder listed on it. I still owe the bank for it. I know I own the money but now since their name is not on the title can they repo it?
