Although the owner's manual says nothing about it, the TL brochure states that the passenger side outside-mirror tilts down when the car is put in reverse. My new TL-S does not seem to do this. Is the brochure wrong, or is my mirror defective? Thanks.

 

Put the side view mirror switch in the center position.

My GF had a problem with it yesterday. I was playing around with it and correct me if I'm wrong but I think you can adjust the amount the mirror tilts down. At least, it seemed to be the case in my car.

Yes, setting it to the center will allow it to tilt down. When set to either left or right mirror, the right mirror will not tilt down when put in reverse.

No, you cannot adjust how far down it tilts.

I am sure that the TL & CL mirrors are the same.

When backing with the switch in the middle and the mirror tilting downwards, if you push the switch to the right the mirror will return back up. Useful if you want to see further behind and not the ground.

Also works if you have the switch off from the middle and you reverse, if you flip the switch to the middle, the mirror will start tilting downwards.

I am sure most of you guys know this already.....
