i was out on long island the other night, where the cops r pr*cks, cop was following me then as soon as i hit my turn signal he pulls me over, gives me a ticket for my hyper whites and for my 20%'s. Friggin cop comes out with the tint-o-meter and it said 9%, which i cant figure why it would say 9% ......so the next day i change the bulbs n get the turn signal tickets dismissed, meanwhile my tint i dont know what to do? pay the $45 fine? or do what my friend said he did with his maxima, he found the same exact maxima without tint, took a picture of it, said he removed it and mailed it in and they dismissed him, only thing i live in the bronx and the nassau cop said if they have a problem with the picture they might make me come in person which i dont want to do, would paying the fine give points on my license?

 

Just pay the fine! There are no points for illegal tints and hyperwhite bulbs.

 

If not all, at least most cars comes with factory tint. Add on some aftermarket tint and the percentage of emitting light will be less than the rated tint itself.

 

I can't believe you got pulled over for that. I live on Lond Island - have both illegal tints and hyper whites...maybe I'm jinxing myself but I haven't been pulled over yet! And I turn right in FRONT of cops ALL THE TIME! They look at me and smile! (Knock on Wood!)

 

yep, pay the fine keep the receipt in your glove box.

 

i was so mad too cuz i dont even live out there, i was just visiting a friend wit a few of my boys and we were exiting the highway and the cop must have been following me but being dark i didnt see him and as soon as i hit the signal he pulled me over, im gonna get the hyper-reds n try em out

I got pulled over for that **** too.... tints too dark, blue license plate covers, a chicken on my license plate, and for lights around my car..... sucks ****....

ya I had 12% tints and the tint-o-meter thing said 5%.

 

Maybe they check you out more then your car lol.

 

umm, I switch to hyper red, not a really good match for parking/brake lights but I still like it. Don't waste your money on LED turn sigs either (they don't work well because they are direction and doesn't use the reflector). About tints.......man don't get me started cuz I gotten tickets with a Florida tag in IL for my (legal in FL) tint.

This is what red polarg looks like. They are brighter/redder and the camera just doesn't get it right.

 

Yah just pay the fine, thats what i did. guy tested 3%.... whoops...
