Thoughts about spark plugs

It's time to change my plugs, so I go to the auto parts store (auto zone), and they tell me that Bosch Iridium Fusion's are the ones for my 02 TL-S, and since I have never used a multi pronged spark plug makes my hesitation painful.

Now I normally shop at NAPA, but the counter person there was trying to tell me I needed some plug that was 15-20 bucks each, and as they said was a 100K plug. Sounded shady so I left and went to az.

Which leaves me two questions:

Are the shops full of crap!!: 20 spark plug for 100k miles, or bosch iridium fusions

If not how due you check the gap on this four pronged thing?

I think most people would say the plugs you want are NGK Iridium IX. If you have a Murrays or Advance Auto Parts in the area, they should carry them. PartsAmerica.com will list which stores have them in your area.

just because it will fit does not make it the right part!!!

USE ONLY NGK Iridium IX- in your gen2 TL,,

7 bucks each at kragen-which is the same company under many names, some are listed above
Get the dollar packet of plug anti sieze too
read the DIY- it will help you prevent damage to the coils and other parts

when you see the super fine electrode on the NGK- you will not believe they tried to sell you some multi pronged monster- totally wrong type plug- but it fits~
NGK platinum are stock- Iridium is the newer better stuff and approved for use-
iridium comes stock in gen3 cars

Got mine online at Summit Racing I think. IIRC, ~$45 shipped for a set of 6.

a 6 inch and 3 inch long extensions for the socket set will make the job much easier
Buy the $1 packet of anti-sieze- will make your life better

1 foot of vac line tubing, the size that fits on the top metal part of the spark plug- will allow you to hand start the threads, and ensure not cross threaded

Long reach plug socket even easier- don't even need the tubing, socket aligns the plug.
