Hey guys,

I have a '01 TL with a rebuilt tranny - about 40,000km on it. I just did a 3x1 two days ago and I noticed that third gear is sticking wayyyyyy more than it was before I did it. By that I mean it might go upto 3000 rpm until it shifts into fourth when i'm driving normally i try shifting at 2000rpm (not using SS), and it usually happens when i'm driving slowly...for some reason when I push it and shift at 3500rpm its still fine...I used Honda ATF Z1 fluid.

At this point I don't know what to do...Should I:

1) Do a 3x3 with honda z1?
2) Change over to amsoil? (do a 3x3)
3) leave it the way it is and hope it goes back to normal?

One of my friends has his own garage and told me I should stick with z1 and should do a 3x1 every three months or so...I'm not sure what to do at this point....It's pretty much a new tranny and I really don't want it to start failing on me this early...

Any suggestions would be helpful.

 

go to the dealer

 

dont do a 3x3 and dont swap brands while a problem exist- it only gets worse~
Do a selenoid cleaning and external trans filter replacement and hope for the best
See DIY sections or search
If that doesnt work then talk to the dealer for a diagnosis and if failed what kind of goodwill they can extend since it is a replacement with low mile

 

Will try the solenoid cleaning and replacing the external tranny filter...The warranty has expired but if it gets worse I hope they would extend some sort of offer b/c the mileage is so low
