Thinking about selling

Dont worry MODS im not trying to sell the car now just asking opinions.

So im in the military and just got orders to Korea for a year. The military wont let me bring my car so it will be sitting till i get back if i keep it. But im on edge to keep it or sell it. its an 03 tl-p with only like 45k. Was going to try to ask like 15k and see if i get anybodys attention. What do you guys thinks. what would you do. Look at signature for mods currently on the car. thanks guys for your input.

It sounds to me you want something else all along and this incident is giving you a reason to think of selling it. If you are just going there for a year, then you still need a car when you come back. If you don't need a car when you come back, then sell it now. If you do need a car when you come back, would you buy TL again or would you buy something else? I think you are debating on what car to have; not sell it or keep it because you are going away for a year.

I'm actually contemplating the same thing except I'm looking to trade for a 2nd gen GS300. It probably won't happen though but it's a thought. I've always wanted a GS but at the time the TL seemed to be a better value.

You're probably not going to get $15k for it since even KBB rates it at about $12k for excellent condition. Not to mention there are a lot of them floating around for under $10k (with more mileage). I'd say keep it if it doesn't cost you.

why does it sound to you that i have been waiting a different car all along. if i had wanted another car i wouldnt put almost 8k in mods on the car. and i dont know if i would be coming back after korea. might send my butt to the war again. and i prob would buy a TL again but brand new six speed.

Don't get me wrong. It was just an instinct response in hope to help you with the decision. If you think you could get sent to war, then sell it if you get the right price for it. There is no sense of keeping it if you will not drive it.

ie, there are many tools out there that I am drooling to have, but I cannot allow me to buy them because I might only use it once in a few years. Just like your car, no matter how much you love it, you will have to let it go if you don't drive it, and you know if it is not being warmed up every week properly, it will not be good for the car.

well i doubt you will get 15k. Might as well keep the car man. How long you been in go to Korea for a year and how long you got after that what minimum is 4 im goin to Air Force and im going to be gone for 4-5 years and im keeping my car. Keep it with your family mom dad someone that you trust so when you come back you will have a car and not worrying about buying a new one.

the economy is so bad right now just think when you get back.
