Unhappy Things are not going well

Well the piece of shit car I was driving just lost its last leg, so for the past week I have been stuck without a ride. For those of you that pay attention I was planning on getting my car in March. It now looks like I have to get my car this weekend. I will have half my expected down payment, about half the expected credit I wanted to establish, half the time at my credit union I wanted to have, and I won't have a year in at my job like I wanted.

Basically, my chances of getting an Acura have just gone down the shithole. I will still try, but things are not looking good.

If any of you guys know what some of Acura's credit requirements are to get a good loan your help would be greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to vent some anger, thanks for listening or um reading, peace.

Question

How about getting a real beater for a couple of hundred bucks in the meantime?

I am paying 12.1% on my note, but I had perhaps worse credit than you when i financed it. I got financed thru Acura, actually American Honda Motor Finance.

Here's where I was, maybe you should just try...

- less than 1 year at job
- own a credit card that my girlfriend got for me, I couldn't even qualify
- 4 'chargeoffs' that have been paid, but paid only about 1 month before buying my TL. These are bills that went to collection in the past couple years and I never paid them at al!
- a '97 Accord that I paid off in 2 years, but my Mom was a co-signer

That's how my credit was, and I put $4,500 down on the car and got approved. Payment = $580 for five years. Ouch!!!

Just try, you might be surprised...

Sorry to hear about your previous ride. Don't dealers give you time to shop around for other loans, after you settle on a car? Maybe it is up to the individual dealer.

but good luck.

Hey don't worry, things could be worse, I mean worse. Like having your brother crash your brand new 2001 TL after you got it only a month. or paying 14.4% on your loan thru Chase Auto Finance b/c nobody else even Honda, wouldn't approve you, even though I make over 100K. Take your pick which is worse?

That sucks bdimc, I guess I should feel lucky, I think my interest rate quotes were less than 13% and I am some punk ass kid with almost no credit.

Thanks for all of your sympathy, I am now going to go cry and pout in a corner.

If I can get a TL with being at my job only 4 months, absolutely no credit at all, and 20 years old, you should have no problems. Granted, my loan is at 20%... but hey, you do what you can.

I too have shi__y credit and I was just recently approved with a 8.9 interest rate through Eastern Bank after being denied by Honda Motor credit. In addition, I was approved by Chittenden Bank for 8.9 on a 99 4Runner after being denied by Toyota Motor Credit. You just have to choose a dealer whose finance officer can pull some strings at some local dealers.
