So...right now is it unlocking each door individually..? That might be a cool feature, how do you do that?

But yeah, like the others said, "hit the 'unlock' button on the remote" once to unlock the driver door; "hit" it again as "a way to unlock all doors at once". Careful what you hit it with, and don't hit too hard

also it has to be hit the second time, withen a couple seconds of hitting it the first time

and to OP's "question", no the lock behavior is not programable on our cars , so you get what you get from the factory (hitting it twice for all doors to unlock), unless of course an aftermarket alarm has been added

haha, of course you'd hit it twice . i guess i set myself up for this.

anyways i was hoping that our cars were programable like the 09 tl's. wishful thinking

i've always been used to aftermarket alarms where you hit once and it unlock all doors, its 1 second quicker and less effort LOL!!!

easier to wire which is why most of them unlock all the doors together

Two other ways (although no as convenient as using the fob)

1) turn and hold key in driver's door for a few seconds
2) turn key in passenger side door

those work too, but kinda pointless to even have the fob then , plus you will eventally get scratches from the key around the locks :shiver:

plus then the only way into the trunk is to open the driver's door, and push the button (at least on 03) we don't have a key lock cylinder on the trunk itself, so the fob is kinda important for that (yes there is the remote release, but kinda a pain in the ass to do whenever you want into the trunk)

yeah when i first noticed that i was like WTF, with not being able to get into the trunk with a key

also i know even some newer cars don't look like they have keylock ethier, but they are just hidden instead, so you can still get into it with a key (they like to be were the license plate light is, under that little lip there, along with the back up camera is alot of times)

That depends on the battery life a lot of the time, but Acura's keyfobs don't reach too far. I don't know the exact distance?

I know you guys drive 2G's, but the 3G keyfob can be programmed to open all doors with just one press of the button. It is definitely frustrating when people try to open the passenger door before you get to press the unlock button the 2nd time.

my actually reach quite far, easily a good 100-150 feet, when you got a clear shot at it, normally the issue is actually makeing sure it did recieve the command (lights flashing)

but as said, that it can also depend on how good the battery is in the fob itself (IDK the last time the battery in mine was replaced, bought the car used only a couple of months ago)

What if......?

If you really wanted to open all the doors with one button press, override it at the fob not the car. I assume the fob is at the surface controlled by a push button. Just visit radio shack, do a little soldering, and make it so when the button is pressed, the switch closes twice.

This would work, no?

yes, but very easy to do, not so much, let alone trying to find exactly what you would need at radioshack (proably needs to be a more specializerd electronic parts place anyways)

let alone not much room in the remote itself to do anything in there, but you might actually be able to do it at the car itself, with the unlock signal from the keyless reciever
