Angry Thank you and Goodbye

Hate to say it but getting rid of my 2003 TLS. Been a great car and now at 105K the tranny is starting to slip. IMO not worth fixing cause of the trannys poor design Would have like to keep it for another 5 years but does not make sense financially!! Good luck to everyone and many many thanks.

Good luck

That said, I hope you don't plan on selling it as is. At 105k it'll need new spark plugs soon, new TB and water pump if it hasn't been done yet, and of course the transmission. Please don't hide the issues from a prospective owner, if any.

what difference does it make how he sells it? why should anyone spend $1500 to fix up a car only to get some annoying kid haggling the price i say let the new owner fix it.

Goodluck

No problem with letting the new owner fixing things up, as long as he knows there's a problem. I'd have no problem buying a TL that needed new spark plugs, timing belt, water pump, a valve adjustment, and a new transmission if I knew it needed that stuff and the price reflected it.

Thanks for all your support. Did not want this topic to go out of hand. I was not palnning and not going to sell it privately. If it was up to me I would not recommend 2000-2003 TL for anyone who is on a budget. That being said I am going to trade it in. What is the fair price given the fact that the tranny is shot and needs 105K maintenance? I have a mechanic that can replace the tb for $300. parts from Hansel Acura. Kaleb..ring a bell.
As for tranny a local guy here I spoke to says he will somewhat modify the tranny so it will mnot have that 3rd gear pack problems for $2500. Why not just fix it? still don't want to have that tranny issue in the back of my head plus 0% 60mo financing is pretty good.
Unfortunately my next car will be a camry yes a camry BTW forgot to mentioned that my god father will be giving me his 07 IS 350F

As for anyone buying a new or used car, please use google to research. Wished I did that when I bought my 03 TL

Thanks everyone! I will still be around. I love this forum

According to the dealer it's not under warranty! I know people went that route but I think they were under warranty. My vin # was not part of it so do I have any case? Thanks again. I would prefer to keep the car but don't want to spend that much on a car that would need repairs in the future.
