Tested an 02' TL-S

Ok here is the story, my parents are trying to get me to test drive a WIDE variety of cars before I pick, im currently hooke don the Lexus GS 430 w/ Nav/ML. However, If they get me a less expensive car they agreed to pay for any aftermarket parts up to $12,000 (they never aggrre to that stuff either which was surprising.) So anyway I went to Acura in NJ (forgot the dealership, it was near Fort Lee.) And there regular Demo car wasn't there (TL-S) instead they had an "ACURA showcar TL-S" It was boosted with all comptech stuff and it has 310HP and all comptech products (suspension, etc.) Anyway The car rode horribly, but what do you think. A 36k car with 12k of aftermarket, or a 54k car with no aftermarket??

Hmmm

I think it's funny that your big question is wether or not Mommy and Daddy should buy you a 36K car with all the mods or a 54K car. I wish I had problems like this. They should buy you nothing like my parents did back 10 years ago and tell you to got get a f'n job. My 2 cents.

well. what do you want in a car? Lexus GS430 is one powerful car. Acura TL-S is slightly less muscular, but a whole lot cheaper.

I'd say get a Acura and a few mods, and save the extra cash. Besides, modding a car is half the fun.

P.S.: are your parents looking to adopt?

If this guy is for real ( ) I would take the GS430 in a heartbeat. Did I say buy?? I meant, I would have mom and dad buy the Lexus for me. Heck if it's free... But, a TL-S with $12K mods... would be nice. A lot of those mods would be audio/video. Still, GS430, baby.

one thing I don't like on this board is haters. Just because my parents can afford a nice car for me, means im a spoiled brat right??? ANd i have to earn it? Well Just to let you know, I do earn my keep, I keep up with my work in college, I've been working since i've been 14. I'm not one of those fat ****ing spoiled kids that sit at home and mommy and daddy toss me everything. THe only thing I've ever asked my parents for are for food, and now a new car. And In order to get this car I need some good grades, like A's and B's. This isn't one of those Here son your failing school, take a GS 430. I do earn my keep.

ALL I WANT IS FOOD

All you ask for is food. Not to mention tuition and room, books for school, health insurance, dental, the mighty soon to be car payment or just the straight 54K, the insurance payment, clothing and the almighty inheritance fund. Any parents that just buy kids cars are insane. We're not haters, we just know the value of a dollar. **** why even goto school, you can just wait for the trust fund. :o I don't want to start an argument, it's just I pay for my stuff and I get frustrated.

Bottom line: get you parents to buy me a car also, maybe an M3
My 2 cents again

Why even go to school? Hmm so i can be a ****in retard all my life. Just because my parents have a little bit of money doesn't mean I can fail out of school. My parents expect me to become what they have if not more. My father is a project leader for IBM and my mom is vice president of a big claims company in NYC. Which puts more strain on me to become what they have. I'm looking into owning my own aftermarket business hopefully while at the same time being a graphic designer. The guys at clublexus fortunately are alot older and understanding of this. They don't bring up all this bull**** on my age and the amount of $$$ I have. Why should any of you even care, your not me and I'm not you, I don't need anyone to tell me how I should EARN a car or anything else.

Hey, if someones parents can afford to get their kid a new car - great. But what type of values does it teach a kid to buy them a $50K+ car? My ex-business partner was worth $300M+. One of his kids drove a Cherokee and the other a Saab 9-3. They were decent kids and got good grades but also had something to look forward to when they began earning their own income - buying they're first $50K+ car.
