if you mean the ac belt tensioner at the top of engine- its near the alternator
Watch the belt routing and ck diagram so it goes back on correctly

use breaker bar and socket to release tension to remove belt- then remove tensioner.
access thru passenger fender liner

You'll have to jack it up and remove the passenger side wheel first. Then you'll have to remove (or drop) the splash guard, but not the wheel well fender liner. You'll also have to remove the dip stick tube. It is attached with a bolt just above the tensioner, then pull up on the dipstick tube. The tensioner is attached with 3 bolts: one on top, one on bottom, and one small one through the middle.

Like I said, you'll have to remove the oil dipstick tube first. It has a PITA bolt just above the tensioner, then you pull the tube straight up and out. Make sure to lubricate the o-ring on the tube with a little engine oil during re-installation. Replace the o-ring if it is torn or split anywhere.

This is soo helpful feedback. Others could have said "Remove and Replace" AC tensioner.

The "inner liner" in this case is the splash shield, not the wheel well fender liner. The fender liner can remain, but the splash shield must be dropped. I know he has already changed the tensioner at this point, but this is for possible future users of this thread.

No problem. Unfortunately, I'm all too familiar with working on that tensioner!
