Tein Type SS Coilover Info

A lot of us have been talking about coilovers since ken2000ac got his sweet Zeals and the talk about Tein has come up.

Here is a link for information about the Tein Type SS. 16 levels of shock/dampening adjustment and height adjustment is dependent upon application. Just as I thought, the low MSRP is indicative of the exclusion of upper pillowball mounts. Expect to pay another $400 for those if available.

on the link, there is an asterisk that mentions the spring upper mount in included...is that different than pillow mounts, or does it mena that the kit is fully assembled ready to swap in? i would prefer to get it complete no matter what way it comes!

my buddy with the accord was setting up a group buy on them, so let me know how many of you are ready to buy them. i think this can potentially put him over the top of 10 set minimum.

I'm in for it...by the way...the pillow mounts are the metal things that have bars with screwholes in them that go up underneath the wheel wells and protrude from the inside of the engine bay yes? If so...why can't we use the stock ones? Or are they not removeable or some weird thing? I have no idea what I'm talking about..

Austin...yes, those metal plates with screws on the top of the unit is the pillow mount.

We can reuse the stock mounts, however it was a b!tch to remove for me. i never did all 4 of them since it was such a pain. if you had a shop install them, it would be no sweat at all.

i wanted to use the stock ones actually...softer ride quality. that's what i wanted....luckily it turns out i'm happy with it using the aluminum mounts.

Hmmm only 1k for Teins...not bad. Even with the 400 for mounts and install its pretty cheap compared to Zeals. Oh yeah, is Tein coming to the US or not?

Yup, not bad for under $1000, word from the US distributor is that they're just like the HAs, minus helper spring and tuned to be more streetable. We have them added to the site and ready to ship.

They have Tein here in Canada, but with all the snows out there, I am not sure if it's worth it... I rather spend the money on a labtop and stuff...

bah? I wouldn't want anything but coilovers for my car...slammed in the summer, and stock ride height in the winter.
