Question Tein SS w/ EDFC

Does anyone have the Tein SS w/EDFC installed? Did you have any problems fitting the EDFC motors in the front or back? Did you install a camber kit? I was told the EDFC motor had problems fitting under the hood of the car...True or False. Where did you put the EDFC? Anyone install them yourself?
Thanks in advance!

Yep, I have the Tein SS's with EDFC ... No problems fitting on the TL, the fitment problem is on the CL and its in the rear I think.

I installed a camber kit because I wanted to lower the car about 2"s or so ... anything more than what the Comptech springs do (~1.5") and you'll probably want the camber kit just to be safe. Its not 100% necessary on a 2" drop though ...

I put my EDFC in the center console. I don't adjust it all that often but its easy enough to reach to change if I need to. I had the dealer install mine...

Here's pics of my EDFC installation (front motors and the unit itself) :

how much did the dealer charge for your installation? I got a quote of $270 for the coilovers and $90/hr for the EDFC. they don't know how long the EDFC is gonna take which scares me. He said probably 2-3 hrs, does that sound right? or should I find another dealer? Park Ave is the best though.

Thats probably about right. I did a lot of work at the same time, and I think I was quoted about $400 to have the coilovers + camber kit, icebox, and swaybars installed and then he added another ~$300 for the EDFC because he said the wiring takes a long time to do and to do it right ... $270 sounds a little high for the coilovers but maybe its because I did a bunch of stuff at the same time.

I'm going to talk them down a bit for the coilovers, he usually gives me a little discount. I'm only going for a 1.5 inch drop so I shouldn't need a camber kit. Thanks for the info!

I answered the Cmaber kit in the post listed; basically whether ornot you need a camber kit can only be answered after you pick the hieght you want, and get an alignment.

The EDFC motors dont fit under the CL's hood, but on the TL's it fits fine.

My EDFC unit is in my glove box. I installed it myself, and it wasnt hard, but it was tedious. Took me several hours to do it. Had to remove the center console, rear seats, entire rear deck, glovebox, and the dash panel on the drivers side. Then there was snaking all the wires under carpeting, through holes, etc, etc.

It was a pain in the ass, but it was all worth it in the end.

Hey...I was just stating the obvious...and there was NO question in your new thread that couldn't have been answered by the 3 threads given (IF YOU READ THEM).

Your basically asking if anyone installed the EDFC, I showed you 3 threads that they did. If they couldn't fit, then they wouldn't have installed them right? And as for where they installed the control unit, I gave you 3 threads that showed the glove box OR the center console.

Maybe I'm just having a bad day and I took it out on you, but I'm just tired of the continued decline of the quality of posts that I'm seeing recently. Either way, I actually read all the threads that I THOUGHT could benefit you.
