If you leave TCS off it doesn't work and if you have any tire slippage your car will not compensate for it and you will have to control it yourself.

Trust me it definately does! IF TCS is off, and you floor it, you will have a nice little burnout

I usually leave it on, but if you notice when you turn off TCS and restart your car, when the car starts up again TCS will be on again.

Well it works this way every time you start the car the TCS system is ON.When the yellow TCS light is constant yellow the system is OFF. When the light is OFF the system is ON.There is no need to push the TCS button to turn system OFF unless you are racing or trying to get the car unstuck. The system is a low speed system & works at speeds up to 18MPH.
So every time you start the car even if you turned the system OFF the last time you drove the car system will reset automaticly to ON.I hope I did not screw you up with all that but thats what it is YELLOW LIGHT ON THE SYSTEM IS OFF when LIGHT IS OFF SYSTEM IS WHEN YOU RESTART CAR SYSTEM IS AUTOMATICLY ON.WHEN THE WHEELS SPIN THE LIGHT WILL BLINK ON & OFF

I was also when I got the car almost a year ago.But I think they make it this way because the constant yellow light being on will remind you that the system is turned off. Its all in the owners manual but I did not read fully when I got the car.I learned this at the new car onwners clinic at my Acura dealership. People were asking questions about there new cars.

I think the idea behind it is it is warning you that it isn't going to work. The same way the SRS sideairbag light comes on when someone leans in the passenger seat or the washer fluid light comes on when it is empty.

The biggest reason to leave it on is that the f*****g light is so bright and annoying...

I admit it... I thought TCS was normally off too. I was all ready to turn it on this winter until someone on this board set me straight.

Someone here pointed out that a FWD car with this much power really needs TCS. That makes sense to me.

Since then, I've noticed the light come on a couple times on rainy days and once when I spanked a Suburu
