Tailight tint spray?

have anyone tried to use the "tint spray" for the tailights? Im not sure how people exactly tint their tailights, whether they open up the housing and tint it from the inside or outside, but i have friends telling me, the best solution is to use this tint spray and spray it from the outside giving it the dark tint look, like as it was blacked out. Can someone please give me some advice, i am 1 hr away from doing it because im a impatient f***. Thanks

most people get tint spray and spray it on the outside of the lenses (tape off and cover the car surrounding the taillight -or- take out the taillights) then you will probably need a clearcoat to make it shiney again.

or you can get rockblocker tints and cut them to the size of the tailights, but it looks like you're takin the spray route.

Good luck

From what I've read, people place a tint on the taillight, then use an exacto-knife to cut around the taillight, it makes it look real-deal. But if you've got the spray, go at it!

From what I see on other cars, Rockblocker is the best way to go to tint your tail light. Sure, it cost little more money to do film tint (rockblocker.com) route than spray paint ($50 compare to $10), but you can take it out later in case you bore with it. With spray paint, I'm not sure how you can remove them later on. the film on rockblocker has similar darkness as 35% tint and approx 1mm thick which quite shinny and it safe to wax over them. Took me around 2 hrs to tint both tail lights and it's quite easy enough if you go slowly. Just look at this pics of my car:

or with no tint on clear part

but damn $50 seems so unreasonable for it though man....look at how much its costs to tint our cars. Seems pretty rediculous, hard to convince myself to buy it.

Please don't spray-paint your taillights, if you decide to change your look in the future or just need to return to stock, you'll regret not spending the extra $$ for the film!

i dunno bro, IMO, if you just remove the tailights, and take it to some hole-in-the-wall shop, i'm sure they can tint them with window film....our taillights are not too aggresively contoured, so i dont see them charging too much
