Im also in your boat...it sounds great inside the car, but outside...sounds like the trunk is about to explode! I dont know if its going to really hurt anything, probably not, but I wish I could tame that more

I (TEMPORARILY!!) have a shitty 12" speaker in a bass tube with about 200 watts going to it and just that's enough to rattle my trunk lid. I stuck on some Xtreme dynamat, but it still rattles.
I guess I'm hi-jacking too, but does anyone have a rattle proof trunk?? I even stuck the Dynamat to the rear portion of the trunk(wedged my hand in behind the "A" emblem) and that didn't help!
Any suggestions? Or the proper way to install the Dynamat?

dynamat really wont help, the subs are creating too much air pressure inside the trunk for the trunk lid to stop - therefore it rattles away. I have heard you can get your trunk lid tightend down some..dont know, Ive pretty much given up, if you care, dont turn it up loud at a stop light!
