I'm also using Mobile 1 5w30 every 7-10K miles. Its been working great, synthetics can take lots of heat. The oil is good for longer, but its the filter that can get clogged. I used to use the Mobile 1 filter M1-105 (longer one and wider, but oil seat ring is the same diameter as stock filter) vs the catalog recommended M1-104 (exactly the same size as the Acura filter). Use can also try the M1-208 (same width, but longer).

However after doing more research, I found a lower cost and still very good filter - the Puralator Pure One PF-24458 (blue not the white filter). At $6 at Pep Boys vs $12 - 14 for the Mobile 1, you can change more frequently. The Mobile 1 filter is very solid and can take hits, where as the Puralator casing is not as solid. But in actual driving, I never hit anything with the filter anyway, and its filtering is rated very high. This PF-24458 is also longer, so it has more filter area which is better. Be sure to check in the box for the metalic dark blue color filter, since I find that guys switch the white $3 filter in the box for the Pure One higher end $6 model.

Yeah I ended up getting the Puralator Pure One PF-24458 since they did not have the Mobil 1 filter. The guy said it was the most popular one used.

I think 10w30 would be ok for you too since it's warmer in Miami, and you won't be seeing freezing temperatures. I use 10w30 here in Cali.

Might be a dumb question but what would be the benefit of using 10W30 rather than 5W30?

Higher number = more viscosity = more engine protection.

The main reason why Honda / Ford use 5W20 is so that it can get marginally better fuel economy. I think I'm gonna switch to synthetic soon ... go every 12000km per oil change (VS every 6000km on conventional oil).
