So, there previously was no issues......other than the desire to go back to stock ?

Why were the upper control arms replaced ?

After a fresh alignment, one would expect any suspension problems to be uncovered by the technician working on the car, ...........especially a loose steering wheel !

Grinding and rubbing, along with a poor ride ??????

Take it back to the shop after rechecking all of the latest retrofit work recently done to get back to original. Were old parts reused ? The lowered suspension undoubtebly took a toll on existing parts such as struts, wheel bearings, ball joints, rod ends, etc.
