I got into a street race with a Beretta. He would take off at the light and I would chase and pass him. After doing this twice, he rolled down his window and asked me what kind of motor was in the TL. I told him it was my little old 3.2L V6...he was unfamiliar with the TL and thought my car had a V8 or something. I could tell though that his arrogance about domestics left him feeling somewhat disheartened...awwww

He must have been a dumb-f*** if he never heard of TL.

We gotta watch out. You'd be amazed by the number of cars that will give us a good run or beat us.

That's a bit harsh, don't you think? I would be willing to bet that if you took a random poll, more than 50% of people wouldn't know what the TL is. Heck, probably 50% don't know what ACURA is. Just like I have no idea the differences between an F150 and an F350 and a Silverado and whatever, there is a large segment of the population out there who has no interest in foreign cars, especially luxury ones.

Iceman is right, here in Texas alot of people stereotype foreign cars. Alot of them think every car is a Camry or Accord, they know what those are. ask them what a F150,F250 or Sierra is oh they know.

A lot of people care less about what they drive. Care even less about what other people drive. Its just transportation to them.

Come on guys, all you have to do is be ready and know how to drive, I totally fvcked up a V6 LeBaron GT three times last night, it wasn't even close. One time since I beat him to a red light, he tried to "ricer jump me" and hit the intersection with a 15 mph roll and I still trashed him. You just gotta figure out the launch and when to shift and stop using sportshift and D3, D4, or D5 to start a race. My car is practically stock and I rarely have any problems beating comparable cars now that I know how to drive.

Monte TLS,MAX, that's true. Although look where we're at: Texas--redneck country. These people can differentiate exhaust notes between an F350 and a Dakota.

It's different in North Dallas where I work: everything's all imports. If you see trucks, it's usually from construction people.

You sure 'bout the turbo? I thought it was that QUAD 4 junk or just a H.O. V6 that made under 200HP.

Actually the Z26 Beretta was a 3.1L 191 cubic inch V6.
155hp @5200rpm
185lb-ft @4000rpm

4spd. automatic.

I don't recall the last turbocharged GM cars besides the Buick Grand Nationals 6cylinders...

There was a turbo Grand Prix model offered, but not a turbo Beretta.

You guys crack me up...

Mr. Ubers was merely joking about having trouble with a '92 Beretta.

Here's a good one I've heard. Instead of Acura, I got Uh-Koo-Ra from some clown.
