but if you upgrade the other parts mainly the tranny then you can get a bigget pully which means more boost ad then you can get greater horsee power outto the wheels

They test the SC in a Accord V6 which pulls 237 horses or so..
So i guess it should be 237@ the wheels since the accord is 200
stock. If it is 237@crank then it is definitely not worth the $4500 @all.

Whoopty doo ...

Look mom... $100/HP ...

If you have that much money to waste, you may have been happier with a different car.

One good thing is that it seems that the stock TLS is very close to the performance of some other cars that are so often compared to the TLS, ie GS430, 540i, G35, ....... With the supercharger installed the performance would probally change 0-60 to 5.7 to 5.9 and the quarter to 14? I think with those type of numbers you should be quicker than these competitors.
Another thing good about the supercharger that nobody seems to bring up is the increased torque produced. Alot of other mods people do to their cars usually just increase horse power and have very little effect on torque, like headers and intakes. Iw ould think taking a 32k car and making it a 37k car is still a pretty good bargin when you compare it to others.

Why is evveryone speculating so much? You cannot entirely base the upcoming TL-S supercharger off the Accord SC specs. How do you know if the net gain will be 50, 70 or 80? How do you know how much power the TL-S's tranny can handle?

Please if someone can direct me these sources of info. (for the net HP gains - and boost - the max HP the TL-S tranny can handle, etc...) or post a link I would REALLY appreciate it!

yea i really wanna spend $5000 on supercharger so i can let my transmission die a little earlier.....

this engine is good naturally aspirated... IMO i think it's waste spending 5 G on a supercharger for this car....

Heck with the Comptech headers, AEM Cold Air Intake and Comptech Exhaust my TLS was able to do 0-60 in 5.91 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 14.4 @101.7 mph using my Gtech Pro.

I can do 14.4 with me car as well at the track, Comptech Headers, Exhaust, and Filter.

With the suprt charger, goodness, but I worry about the tranny. If it makes 60 tp 80 FWHP not at the crank, and is under 5K total, with install, that would seem good to me, providing the car doesn't fall apart in a month or two.

I think the SC would be pimp with the CL-S six speed. That tranny should definitely be able to support the extra power. Otherwise, I dont think the SC is worth the risk for the auto tranny.

if i had 5k, i would definitley get the SC. noone knows for sure what the gains are but if they are close to 80hp at the wheels, im gonna save my money. just picture a 300hp at the wheels TLS.
i would drive around and pick races with everyone

just my $.02. some SC for civic & prelude are selling for $2000-2500 which produce about 20-25hp gain. so, $5000 for about 40hp gain (or even more) is not that bad though, providing that it also improve the torque.

237 at the wheels, 171 at the wheels stock, but THAT particular accord was also with the Icebox (that comes with the supercharger) Comptech headers and exhaust.

everyone here also has to consider that the SC will probably come with a dealer warranty....therefore i'm pretty sure coming from Comptech that they're going to make sure it won't hurt the tranny before they put in into the market. Also, with the dead tranny's i've seen on this site.....I feel sorry for every victim but there isn't really that many. It just feels like a lot because (at least I think, not sure so don't quote me) most of the people that have broken dead trannies keep bringing it up over and over again. (Oh great.....time for me to feel the burning :flamer: )

Thumbs down

I don't know about you guys, but if i had an extra $4500 laying around, plus however much it will cost to have it installed, I would have just strolled on over to the BMW dealership and got a 330ci 5-speed..Crazy Acura would probably agree with me
