sub on a 2003 tl 3.2 what fits in there?
Hey guys,
Can I replace that sub with another 1?? I have a 10" JL W7 and I was wondering if that would fit in there. Or is there a way you can hook up a sub without running power wires and other wires to the front. can I also run another amp. Thanks,

Simply put, No and No. The stock opening is a small 9" shallow mount Free Air sub. You would have to find a small free air sub to put in its place and some have tried and the results wernt that good. And the stock amp is no where near powerfull enough to power a aftermarket sub

Just chillen..
Here:
A) Get a LOC ( Line Output converter ) and 3 way splice the stock subs wires and add new speakers wires, which'll be connected to the LOC, giving you the option of having RCA cables. Your REM can be connected to the fuse box and ground/power, you should already know.
B) My setup - Saved me $25 If your amp came with the harness which gives directly a input, then use that. Once again, three way splice the stock sub wires to add two speaker wires, run long wires and connect it to the amp's harness. Thats a direct subwoofer output to the input for the amp to get a signal. REM is ran the same way, as stated above and so is Ground/Power.
Sorry if that’s not detail, but gave you some overview. Take it easy. Ask questions if you still need help!
