stupid arse brother spilled drink

today we were comin back from taco bell when i made a turn and my brother's drink in the shitty ass cupholders that we have fell and all of it went on the seat heater switch/shift plate part. i told him he better clean that shit up or i'd beat the fuck outta him (i blame this on him rather than the cupholder because he knows that drinks always fall out and he should have been holding his drink) so he did with a wet towel and all that. Some of the soda got inside the shift plate part... should i be worried about any problems?

P.S. get new cupholders
P.P.S. make your friends hold their drink

nothing to be worried about. don't be too mad at him. my brother and gf do it all the time. that's what we get, knowing that we can fix it. about a $10 'mod'. gonna do it sometime this week.

dealership part

costs only about $5.50 at the dealership when i replaced mine. just be sure to ask for the cupholder from the 2002 model tl. make sure they dont give you the whole center console assembly.

also, when you get the part, it wont fit in just perfectly. i had to cut some little tabs off the cupholder to get it to fit just right. the new one is much deeper and allows you to hold 1 drink very snuggly. the second drink is a bit too close to the first one, but thats fine cause i dont usually carry more than one drink at a time anyways.

worth the money though. acutally this is the first mod someone should perform.

As long as you are careful, I don't see the problem eating in the car. I'm with Kris on this one. I will occassionally eat in my TL, especially in winter if it's too cold to get out of the car. In winter, I have my rubber mats in the car (which are simple to clean), so I will do an interior cleaning every 2 weeks. All I do is shake out the rubber's, and use the high pressure washer to clean all the crap off.

Good as new!!!

You guys are wayyyyy to over protective about your cars.

I never have food in the car. Any take-out or fast food gets put in the trunk. Otherwise it stinks up the whole cabin. All fountain drinks are either filled 3/4 the way to prevent this mishap or the passengers hold it.

Definetly man. That's the way I need to make it in my car. I've cleaned everything up from barbecue sauce, soda stains, blunt guts, seeds/stems/weed, to crumbs, and I am getting sick of it. It's not that my friends disrepect me or my car it's just they "can't help it" (bullshit). Whatever you do, don't let any drunk girls (or anyone) smoke in the back seat. I STILL have to get a new headliner from over a year ago when some dumb drunk biatch slid her ciggerette accross it.

kris... what is your job that you spend all day in the car, leave it idling throughout the day, and run so many miles per year?
