strut bar? sway bars?
hello, i was taking a corner the other day and i felt my car kind of "dip". somebody told me i should change the sway bars or strut bars.
can somebody explain what each one will do for the ride handling and what type of aftermarket ones are good.
thanks in advance.

from the same site:
"A stabilizer bar tries to keep the car's body flat by moving force from one side of the body to another. To picture how a stabilizer bar works, imagine a metal rod that is an inch or two (2 to 5 cm) in diameter. If your front tires are 5 feet (1.6 meters) apart, make the rod about 4 feet long. Attach the rod to the frame of the car in front of the front tires, but attach it with bushings in such a way that it can rotate. Now attach arms from the rod to the front suspension member on both sides."

The strut bar will be least effective in addressing your handling, yet it is potentially the most inexpensive piece and easiest to install. Sways will do more for your handling than any other modification and Comptech, Neuspeed and Cusco make them all...Springs will also help some of the handling issues and provide a cosmetic improvment (biased, of course) but sways are still the best option...
