Strut Bar

I'm curious to know where to buy and what strut bars are good but still decently cheap. I'm also curious to know if a progress RSB is as good as people say and where I can buy one.

the frame crossbar between the strut towers on top of engine, you can add additional suppurt with a cusco bar

more important is a lower frame crossbar- cusco- see MrHeelToe threads in the Black Market Sponsored Sales or www.heeltoeauto.com

has sway bars too, or you can upgrade the current bushings and sway bar end links

Cusco front upper and lower. You'll notice the lower bar more - feels more solid when you got over bumps at highway speed. *NOTE: It hangs ridiculously low. If you've lowered your car, you'll scrape everything. I went through 2 lower braces before giving up on them.

Progress RSB for the 3G TL is nice. The initial hard turn and weaving in a parking lot after you install it will blow your mind. I got used to it after awhile. Would have been nice to drive a stock 2G to re-feel the difference again.

My setup was:
Wider grippy solid tires + lighter wheels (rpf1s) + coilovers (tein ss-p) + strut braces + progress rsb = much better handling glorified Honda Accord.

(Pretty sure I've written an identical sounding post on this subject before.)

I scrape ~sometimes~ but the bar also protects the cat as it hangs slightly lower than it

better an 80 dollar bar loose some metal than an expensive order thru excelerate and install a new cat. Bar still performs the same minus some paint

learn to cross bumps and dips at an angle- that reduces most of the problem,
except those really bad driveways or wide speed bumps

And you would notice an even BIGGER difference if you had a Front sway bar.

what brand and size front sway bar do you have? Eibach 27mm? does installation require dropping the exhaust?

i see XLR8 now offers a front sway bar made by ST, but its 22mm and doesnt seem to be large enough. has anyone tried the ST front sway bar?

i currently have progress 24mm rear sway bar, and B&G sk2 shocks and springs. the car handles great and is flat, the front could be tighten up a bit thats all.

Eibach. I never understood why people only upgraded the rear. Sure it makes the car a little more neutral but it isnt doing anything to help the front squat and roll. Adding a match set of front and rears will make the car handle more neutral and better. The front heavy fwd needs the front to be kept in check better. My lap times dropped drastically by adding the front over just the rear (tried at a track to see the handling difference). I can get oversteer with my car fairly easily with adjusting the rear shocks a little stiffer.
