Strange wobble

hello all,

my interior cv joint on the drivers side slipped/popped out (to my shock and dismay) when I was installing the last spring on my vehicle.

i managed to take the axleshaft out and pop it back into place without taking the boot off.

i'm experiencing a wobble, could it be related to the incident with the defective cv joint?

has anyone else had this issue?

i'm a bit wary of taking it to the dealer since i have aftermarket springs.

should i try to enlist their support?

I wonder if one of the ball bearings slipped out? If it's the inner cv joint they usually have about 3 bearings. A way to check it would be to get some latex gloves, because this will get messy, and press on the rubber boot on the suspected inner cv joint. If you feel a a loose object inside, then yeah one of the bearings probably slipped out. Time to call a mechanic, or DIY.

if possible, i would like acura to replace it since their cv joint was defective/had too much play.

how successful do you think i will be in dealing with acura?

I brought mine in because of this wooble and the first time they said everything was ok so I figured maybe my aftermarket rims were bent up front, but after I switched to stock for the winter the wooble was still present so I decided to get a balancing and alignment done, but that didn't help so I brought it back to the dealer. They found it pretty quick this time after I told them all the steps I took on my side trying to fix the issue and they did all the work and replaced the part under warranty. Took about 1 1/2 hours.
