Strange shifting problem
Strange shifting problem
Saturday my '03 TL(~36k miles) started fine, but I was unable to shift out of Park. My foot was on the brake, the steering wheel was not at either extreme...thinking it might be a bad copy of a new master key I just had made, I switched keys and everything was normal. I turned the car off, switched keys, and again everything was fine. Yesterday (Sunday) no issues...today (Monday) the same problems that occurred Saturday happened again. I just had the car inspected Thursday, no major services performed...the weather was exactly the same all three days as well.
Anyone have a similar experience with not being able to get the transmission out of Park? The dealer service manager was unaware of this issue, and asked that if it happens again, to bring it in to get checked out under warranty.
Thanks in advance,
Brian

I saw that in another thread, printed it out and faxed it to the dealer. The issue is the intermittent nature of the problem...makes diagnosing a little more difficult, unless somewhere in the "black box" the malfunction is recorded...
Thanks,
Brian

Interesting, this morning the ABS and TSC amber lights were both lit for a one mile trip to the convenience store...got back in the car and they stayed off during the ride home. Likewise for my 25 mile trip into the office, everything was normal.
I suspect some sort of brake system malfunction is about to occur...Any one have any thoughts?
TIA,
Brian
