This message is for everyone who comes in the acura forum and starts comparisons between the tl and another car(usually bmw). This forum is for acura owners and people who like acura cars. Please people, stop trying to prove to us that other cars are better.
People who want to compare cars and say that an is300 or 330i I30 ES, GS is better than a tl, why dont you guys find a KIA or SATURN forum and talk all about how a 330i is really nice.
BASICALLY, ACURA, BMW,LEXUS, INFINITI all make great cars. Lets not try to talk sh** about one anothers cars anymore and instead talk about something usefull to TL owners.

 

Probably cuz alot of the other forums out there don't have people who actually have meaningful conversations about cars and that is what they are used to doing.

Just don't let it get to you bro, some people just were not taught right and even try to show off because they need attention. Just like when you see a rice rocket and they try to race you, just ignore them and they will leave you alone.

I have been on this forum for only 4 months but it sure does seem like in the last month, more and more people are doing comparisons like that.. Maybe some people just want to get false validation to what their purchase was since they know that the TL is superior anyway.

If one is turly into cars, no matter what car it is, they should be able to appreciate the features of it.

I'm with you! This is an ACURA site, for people who own and want to own an ACURA. We are not here to compare. WE know what we like!! If anyone's confused on what to buy or feel like talking the Acura down...take it somewhere else. I'm sure that I speak for the majority of Acura owners out there.

Notice my sig - I have a TL, and really love it. That doesn't mean I think it's better than a BMW 5xx or a Lexus GS430, I just couldn't afford one of those. (OK, I could've bought a 525i w/o options but too slow and I like all the options, so I got a TL.)

The nice thing is that these days, there are lots of great cars out there. Don't be so defensive, fellas - different strokes for different folks.

We all have TLs here and we enjoy them, but notice this is also a public forum, where different opinions can be voiced. It would boring if people all said the same thing over and over again. We all know how great the TL and TL Type S are, but how can we not think about other cars out there, especially for those that are shopping for cars and are comparing.

You really need some differences here to think about how much better the TL or another car is. Makes life for more interesting.

I had some notable cars (the 1955 Borgward, for example). It was a cheaper version of the Morris Minor (less chrome and the car had to be turned upside down to shake out/empty the ashtray bolted to the dashboard). Still, a plush vehicle for its time!
I'd put up most of the current crop of near-luxury cars to it, but the Acura 3.2 TL Type-S beats it hands-down (still wish it had the '54 chrome window pulls on the Chrysler line, however).

I'd have to agree with acuraguynj here. This forum is for everyone, so you're going to get many opinions. It would be very boring without those guys. I'll agree it gets annoying after a while (you can only read so many topics about the Maxima), but once multiple topics start popping up, I don't even read them. If you react to every topic about another car, those people will never leave. I must say though that over on the CL forum we have a couple of IS300 and BMW M3 owners and 90% of the time their posts are informative and useful. Granted others come that are just a waste of space but what can you do?

One of the more interesting feedbacks is from TL owners like myself that love our TLs, but also love other cars too. I am allowed to love more than one car aren't I? LOL!

I had the AWESOME opportunity to ride in an M3 this weekend --> whooo doggie! That's power -- and that manual sure does make a huge difference -- judging by the way the M3 took off (neglecting the fwd vs. rwd issue for a sec.) that new manual 6spd in the Type S will ROCK this car into a new auto class!

But.. as far as the 330 goes .. great car -- i'm sure it handles awesome and is just as much of a blast to drive as the M3 (manual) .. but heck -- the 330i's are a dime a dozen out here where I live -- I have YET to see another TL-S -- and I still love to see everyone turn their head when I drive past in this car .. that no one has seen before. I always see people staring at the car when i'm besides them at a stoplight -- unlike any car i've ever been in.
Gotta love that.

 

Want the opportunity to ride in a Viper with me? Your Raj right? The guy I gave a ride to in my M3? I'll soon be 'borrowing' my friends Viper and rides are free That car is amazing.

This pretty much hits it on the head.
There have been a variety of very good debates and conversations comparing the TLS and other cars. So long as the TLS remains in the discussion then there is no problem. Say what you will, just keep it respectful. If you want to go outside of the TLS, well that is cool too, that is what the off-topic forum is for.

As you've probably noticed -- the TL-Type-S discussions are a tad more tame than the Cl Type S discussions!

 

It's funny how people complain about how strict the moderators are here. Try visiting some of the other sites like Honda-acura.net or is300.net. Some of those guys are dictators. H-A.net doesn't really get any traffic anymore, but when it did, if was very tight. The mods here let people get away with murder compared to over there. You also have to keep in mind that this board is using both the Acura and TL names. What if some exec from Acura hopped on here and saw a lot of BS, cursing, fighting, etc. going on. I bet you this site would be shut down rather quickly. Don't think so??? Honda did it last year to several sites using the word Honda in their URL.....

Thanks for all the replies. I wanted to see others opinions. When I set this topic, i came out a little too strong.
What I really mean is it is cool to have some car comparisons, but not just repetitive. THe 330i for example, is brought all the time.
Also, I agree with you guys that the car comparisons and stuff should go on to keep the site interesting, however just not the same cars should be discussed over and over.

 

I've been sharing time between here and the CL board (since I do own a CL for now). However, I've made up my mind and I'm going with the TL-S, so I'll be over here a lot more in about a month or two!!

 

Cool. I haven't posted on the CL board in awhile. I have some 350 posts over there, but I just started spending all my time here. Besides, I have two forums to mod here.

Are you going to stay on modding for Adam after you get your TLS?

 

Hey, I bought my 3.2TL TypeS because I really like the car. I don't give _ _ _ _ (fill in the blanks) if someone else has a different preference. I bought mine because I like it and they bought theirs, supposedly, because they like it so why try and make someone else feel bad about their selection?

Won't work with me. I know what I've got and you can post until you are blue in the face; the Acura 3.2TL TypeS is a hell of an automobile; period!
