Who told you it could take a TL? Accord v6s are slow, they certainly won't take a TL.

It would be a mistake for any car company to make their luxury division vehicles slower, and lesser quality than their non-luxury division vehicles.

if i remember right, there is about 1 sec (maybe even more) difference between TL-P and accord v-6 when raced up to 0-60.. which means total butt whoppin done by TL

I used to own a 95 Accord V6 and It was fast but not even close to the TL!! I even test drove a 2002 accord V6 with a dealer guy that said "just floor it!" uuhhhh ok... The 3.0 liter engine is < 3.2 liter TL engine...:o

I think ALL newer hondas have VTEC. My wife's old car, a 99 Civic, had a VTEC engine.....

The v6 accord is like a cheaper version of the TL. Their are a lot of similarities between the two.

Accord 3.0L 200hp
TL 3.2L 225hp

It's like racing your younger brother..

The TL automatic transmission's faster upshifts probably deserves alot more credit than it gets for the superior acceleration.

Do the new V6 Accord's have the exact same engine as the 3.0 CL's or are they just the same size?

im almost positive they do... that wud b a good race, a 3.0CL VS V6 accord.. hmmm. the thing that sucks, correct me if im wrong, but only the weaker engine model (2.2 or 2.3, not sure) Cl (last generation) came in stick. the 3.0s dont. and im pretty sure its the same thing for the accord V6s. i think only the I4s can come in stick.

being a luxury car (which not tl isnt exactly) does not mean it has to be faster then its counterpart. luxury and speed or not interchangable. althought it is a plus to have both.

You guys should actually try to race a V6 accord before saying oh 200 vs 225 no way. This is what happened when I raced Zodiak in his old TL. We both had a short ram intake. I had better tires. I kept in D3, he shifted in all sorts of different ways vsa on and off.
basically if you race in a 1/4 mile, the tl will probably win by a tiny bit. If you race past like 90mph, the accord (kept in D3) will pull away. The TL's 4th gear is an overdrive gear and really hinders the TL's acceleration past 90-100mph. We raced to about 115mph (floyd bennet field in brooklyn). I won every time. Once he got the same tires as me, it was much closer.. it really dependend on the launch but we were neck to neck, but there were times I won and others he did. Don't forget the TL is also heavier than the accord. So dont talk about something if you have no personal experience with it.

A tiny bit in the 1/4 is an understatement. According to magazines, the TL-P runs low 15's - mid 15's. We run High 15's - low 16's. The gearing on the TL is soo much better than our accord. The 2nd gear tops out at about 60mph and 3rd about 100mph. Are you sure your boy has the 3.2TL and not the 2.5TL? My mom's TL is so much quicker than my accord and I have short ram, 2.25" custom cat-back, and AEM PS pulley. Also don't tell me that my cat-back is the reason, I've beaten Indo79's Accord and he has CAI and Denso plugs.

i gotta agree with the guys.. why would honda be dumb enough to make their basic model better than their luxury model??? the TL's defenitely beat out the Accords... i dunno about the new Accords that are coming out tho.. i hear the Type R is coming out with V6 and manual??? is this true??? no manual for TL??? =( well then how about rwd... hey honda/acura u listening here?? lolz

I don't know what the exact numbers are but someone maybe able to figure it out. Check on the power to weight ratio and look at the transmission gearing. It will give you an idea... on paper!! Another huge factor is the DRIVER!! You never know until you actually race!!
