Stock Strut Life?
Hey guys, currently looking into a 2000-2001 3.2TL with 40,000 to 50,000 miles on it. Just curious as to how long these factory struts are usually good for? I know there's a lot of factors as far as strut life go, but can anyone give me a general idea of when these things need to be replaced?
Also, if anyone is bored, any advice/feedback on the Acura is appreciated
Thanks!

In an area with decent roads, you ought to be able to get at least 10 years/150K on them. I can tell you that my '95 Accord EX still has the original struts/shocks all around, and it rides like the day I bought it- 9 years old, 125K miles. But our roads in FL are generally pretty smooth.

Have a 99tl with about 60k on it and it still rides pretty good but I do not think it rides as well as when I bought it with 43k it rode great, or it could have been just that I am used to it now. Anyway I am changing mine soon because I just bought comptech springs to lower the car a little, I am figuruing I might as well replace the struts as well. I am gettign Koni yellow's for about $350 all four. In general the car rides nice still with the stocks. I also have type-s wheels and performance tires so it makes it a little worse also. If you are staying stock you should be fine for a while! good luck..

I got a hook up from a friend, I have not ordered them yet. I am going to get the exact price today. I think it was like about $170 a pair front and back. how much are you going to pay for the tl. you can get an 2002 kinda cheap these days. email me kevin.cody@morganstanley. I may be able to get you a deal on the shocks if needed...

I'm looking to spend around $17-$18k... maybe $19 at the most.
I'm shooting for a 2002 since I really like what they did to the headlights for that year, but finding one with the right price may be tough.
No biggie, I'm taking my time. Probably won't be buying until Feb or March.
I appreciate the offer Kevin! Don't be surprised if I take you up on that offer sometime down the road

They have had some nice 99-01 tl on the site for sale lately already with some nice mods. do a search for a 99 white TL it was real nice. Or wait and get an 02 type-s, can prob find one for like 21k if lucky with 30-40k, they are going cheap these days.. good luck
