Cool stock audio (CL vs TL)

I have $30,000+ to blow and i've been researching cars for the last two months. I've narrowed down the decision to an Acura TL or CL. Based solely on audio quality(including bass response), which is superior(6 speaker CL or 5 speaker TL)? If the sound quality is adequate for both vehicles, is it difficult to add an external subwoofer to the stock system.

Thanks for helping a newbie,

Cool

Hey i had a very loud ass system in my 98 rodeo. 4 Alpine ZR 12's, and Two Pheonix Gold amps. Its cool to have all that bump and sound quality as well. If you like your ability to hear dont get a system. Its ok to have like a 1 12 or so but you dont really need it for the TL. It has a wonderful stereo with satisfying bass, real crisp highs too... Loud music is great but it can make you drive fast and can lead to wrecks...

if your a normal person, the factory system is just fine. if anything, a tad too low

does the cls have a sub? if it does, its better than the tl's

well, right now i have the AIWA CDC-MP3 indash mp3 player. its 45w x4. i also have a 300w amp pushing a 10" sub. i listen to lots of electronic music(IDM) and its pretty bass heavy. i don't really care about super loud volume or anything, i just want to be able to hear the full range of bass tones(and a little thump). anyone out there have a stock system with a non-stock amp and sub?

1999+ TL all have 4 speakers + 1 Sub.

2001+ CL(S) all have 6 speaker but 0 Sub.

To be honest with you, even tho the TL do have a soo call sub.. the bass on both cars are jokes.. Sounds qualities are great and clear. But if you are hardcore loud speaker listener, don't expect to have that heart pounding feeling... I would just add a 8-10 inch Sub addition to the current stock system, cuz I LOVE the stock system's head and speakers.

Even though I'm trashing my stock BOSE system(because of competion matters) it doesn't mean that I didn't like it, in fact I think that it's one of the best stock systems on the market in fact if you upgrade the sub and sub amp it would be very impressive!!! Only one thing about the sub upgrade...you have to watch the magnet(there is a reinforcement bar right under the wolfer) either get a small magnet wolfer or cut off the bar.
If you have alittle cash to spare that's what I would do but if you a some $$$'s then go and get a total system.
PS. Ask around for help, alot of us has some serious systems on the forum!!!!!!

I'm VERY happy with the stock TL system. I added the factory CD changer to it when I bought the car. My last car had a sick 155+ db system in it and I was GLAD to get away from that. The TL system sounds good at low levels yet has the ability to crank when you want it to and still sounds clear.

Well, on my CL, the system wasn't that great. I'm not into huge stereos, but the bass was horrible, and I'm sure it can't be much better on the new TL/CL (No highs, no lows, must me a Bose). I had a friend of the family add 2 small (6 1/2") Bazooka Tubes in my trunk and I'm happy with that. It took him a couple of hours and didn't cost too much. He also hooked it up to a switch so I can turn them on and off whenever I want. I'll probably take them out of the my car and put them in my new one when I get it this spring/summer....

Tann@808

That would be very interesting. I haven't seen too many 9" 2nd party woofers though. replacing the factory 9" and adding about 200 watts would probably do it. i'm thinking about test driving the car again this week and bringing my own bass CD

the sound system that comes w/aruca-tl is fine. my car before this-had mb quarts, eclipse head, jl sub etc.. and this is just as good. there's no doubt i can pick it apart, but all in all is fine and i save 4000 dollars, which is the beginning price for a decent system. now if you want a system like streetEffectz creates, that 's a different level.
